The Italian coffee does not exist, there is the Italian style coffee and we’ll discuss this in the pages of this site.
But some history on the birth of this now essential for many beverage is certainly a must and if you want to know more lean because the coffee is a story that gets lost in the mists of time in an Ethiopian plateau of Kaffa. Origin of the name of coffee there are different opinions: some argue that it derives precisely from the plateau where the name made its first appearance, while according to others was the plateau to be renamed after the beverage was already known throughout the world with a name derived from Qhawa which translates literally to drink exciting.
The exciting discovery of the properties of the coffee plant is often attributed to a minister of Ethiopia, which became the particular state of restlessness of its holding after eating those berries scented color on, it was drying the seeds (which we wrongly call grains) and infuse a minced mixture, giving birth to what has become the hot beverage of excellence in recent centuries.
The first countries that saw the development “social” coffee were Turkey and the Arab region, where two centuries ago were set real salt from ancestors of the modern coffee bar.
The arrival of coffee in Europe is estimated in the second half of 1500, when British settlers started plantations in South America and then importing the seeds to England for roasting.
It was in England that coffee was finally entering society born in the first cafes in the capital London.
Italian coffee
The first witness of Italian coffee is dated around 1570 in Venice, where they were imported a few bags of seeds from the East. At that time it was tasted simply infusing the blend toasted and ground in hot water, bringing to the boil three times.
For years, coffee was consumed in Italy according to the tradition that saw the rise in the Middle East, until in Milan in 1901 an engineer in Milan not put up a curious machine which was used to prepare the beloved beverage using water and steam, was the birth of the famous Italian coffee: the espresso coffee.
